In the historical Maritime
Republic of Venice, Carnival
represents a very special festivi-
ty, dedicated to artistic traditions
and creativity. Over the last few
years, people's participation has
increased, adding popular and
folkloristic touches to the lavish
celebrations and shows held in
Piazza San Marco.
The bitter cold at this time of
the year doesn't make any differ-
ence: Carnival must be enjoyed
outdoor. The grand opening of
this 2015 edition featured a sym-
bolic boat parade, with members
of the City's rowing societies
wearing masks instead of their
colors and banners.

water and heavy rain, a fleet of
typical boats and almost 500

La politica fa il suo mestiere
e le dichiarazioni andrebbero
depurate da proclami e partigia-
nerie, ma alcune considerazioni
sono super partes. Se il premier
italiano Matteo Renzi annuncia
che il 2015 sarà per l'Italia "un
anno felix, straordinariamente
fertile perchè ci sono tutte le
condizioni esterne per tornare a
correre", e questo spirito di
fiducia potrebbe incoraggiare i
mercati finanziari e la ripresa
economica che ancora stenta, è
sicuramente vero che se non si
comincia a credere nelle proprie
potenzialità, non ce la si farà
mai. Perchè l'Italia il petrolio
ce l'ha a vista, tra le mani, nelle
migliaia di opere e siti culturali
che arricchiscono il suo territo-
rio. Ma se non valorizziamo
questa risorsa, se ciascuno di
noi non contribuisce a promuo-
