M oroder's comeback w as encouraged by his participation in the 2014 Grammy Award- w inn ing D aft P unk's dis co album Random Access Memories with the autobiographical track Giorgio by Moroder, followed by a number of DJ sets world- wide that combined classics from the '70s and '80s w ith new remixes . This s udden and acclaimed resurgence earned him an offer by the A merican Sony/RCA Records, which "sim- ply couldn't be renounced". N evertheles s , G iorgio M oroder w as already w ell know n and res pected in the industry. Born in South Tyrol, Italy, he moved to Berlin in the mid-1960s and made a name for himself by performing in Italian, Spanish, English, and German. World fame came when he pro- duced some of Donna Summer's greatest hits in the late 1970s - the golden age of disco music – and started composing for cine- ma. His work includes award- winning scores for Hollywood legendary movies , s uch as Scarface, Flashdance (What a Feeling, Oscar in 1983), The Chase, American Gigolo, and T op G un (T ake My Br eath Away, Oscar in 1986). Over the years, he has won three Oscars, three Grammy Awards, and four Golden Globes. He was also honored w ith the title of Commendatore Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana in 2005, as w ell as w ith the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World S oundtrack Academy in 2011. Despite distancing himself from music and moving to New York after disco went out of fashion in the late '80s, Moroder continued to influence the pop scene and even the 21 st century disco revival by being sampled by Lil Wayne and other artists. He also wrote the songs for three different Olympics from 1984 to When it comes to fashion blogs, Chiara Ferragni's blog may be one to triumph all oth- ers. The 27-year-old fashion blogger has a blog so massive that its value is worth more t h a n $ 8 m i l l i o n . T h i s h a s resulted in Chiara to be ranked in Forbes 30 Under 30 Most Influential in the World list 2 0 1 5 , m a k i n g h e r t h e o n l y Italian on the list, and among other economics, fashion, sci- ence and engineering qualifiers from all over the world. Chiara Ferragni has man- aged to build herself a life- long career out of what began as a personal style blog back in 2009. Now, she has expanded her team to 16 other people and has signed partnerships with huge luxury brands such as Burberry and Dior. Due to C h i a r a ' s " b u s i n e s s - s a v v y " d e c i s i o n s a n d o u t c o m e s , Harvard has reached out to her and asked for her blog, The Blonde Salad, to participate in the Ivy League university's f i r s t f a s h i o n b l o g g e r c a s e study. H o w h a s a b l o g l i k e T h e B l o n d e S a l a d r e n d e r e d s o m u c h p r o f i t ? C o - f o u n d e r Riccardo Pozzoli claims that during the first few months of T h e B l o n d e S a l a d , h e a n d Chiara were "young students, and it was not easy to say 'no' to such proposals with high financial reward". Instead the two founders decided to wait for the blog to build all on its own, and as time passed, larger brands such as Dior began to take notice. In 2010, The Blonde Salad began its run and huge brand companies were on their toes i n h o p e s o f w o r k i n g w i t h Ferragni. Many of these com- panies were stepping into e- c o m m e r c e a n d l o o k i n g f o r s o m e o n e l i k e C h i a r a w h o could practice blogger product placement and sell their prod- ucts. All she had to do was "tell a story", as Pozzoli puts it, that included what she was w e a r i n g a n d w h a t s h e w a s doing, as well as "a couple of companies' website links in the text." Chiara has also carefully managed to go from fashion blogging to fashion designing, and has created her own line c a l l e d C h i a r a F e r r a g n i Collection. The future plans of t h e s a l e s f o r t h i s b r a n d a r e approximated to be around 7 million euros this year, and 10 million in 2016. Making the most of this sec- ond chance in life, which has brought him out of his semi- retirement in Los A ngeles , Giorgio Moroder is also plan- ning collaborations with Lady Gaga, major movie productions, as well as with Disney to com- pose the soundtrack for the latest "Tron" videogame. And to those who wish for him to focus exclusively on retro dis co mus ic, he proudly responds that, as a co-founder of this genre, he is entitled to use it and shape it into new, modern sounds that will "pave the way to the future."
