Have you realized that you have taken part in constructing the future of this story which first started from immigrants to the West Coast? Without you, L'Italo-Americano would not have existed for some time. Instead, it can proudly celebrate its 108 years, making it the longest running community newspaper in American history! All because of your affection and the bond you have created with your cultural identity. For us, 2015 was a year of considerable sacrifices and of major changes, often far from easy to handle. Yet we managed to preserve this heritage of the Italian style which is L'Italo-Americano. Through the generosity of your donations and your participation in our two annual lotteries, we have felt the confidence in our daily commitment and the support to its social mission. Even with the small amounts, you have allowed the continual publication of the newspaper that speaks about us as Italian-Americans and about the importance of not losing our cultural heritage. I personally want to thank you for having purchased tickets and I congratulate the winners of the February 27th extraction that awarded fantastic holidays in Italy, in Rome or in Tuscany, also giving the possibility to learn, or improve our language in our beautiful country, our Belpaese. We would have liked to reward each one of you, which we aim to Use 'Your' L'Italo-Americano as your voice to promote yourselves From the director do in each of our editions, offering the best content possible and a new and wide range of personalities that illustrate for us our interpretation of a mixed culture that enriches professional capacities. For all those who do not have a winning ticket in hand, we will announce the date of the next summer raffle, of which we will give you more details soon. Your contribution, thanks to the affordable subscriptions that we propose (only $2 a month, the digital edition allows you to read us comfortably through your smart phone), will continue to be crucial. This 2016 is projected to be even brighter than ever. We are full of confidence and good will, of ideas and editorial projects, of journalistic passion and of opportunities to meet with the community and we are ready to renew our commitment to improve the paper and make it more beautiful and accessible. We would like to continue to be the voice of the community, just as it has been through the last century, and for this, we invite you to become involved in all the initiatives implemented as groups, society, youth associations, Chamber of Commerce organizations, be they commercial, cultural social, charitable, religious or artistic. We want the same appeal to individuals, to professionals, to companies, and to the Made in Italy brands in the United States. Anyone can find, on our social media platforms which has nearly 110,000 followers, an important and widespread promotion network for their cultural, professional and cultural activities. L'Italo-Americano wants to be close to you to highlight and give prominence to your endeavors because they are all expressions of that know-how which has made Italy great in the world. With the support of the Italian Consulate in Los Angeles and in San Francisco and the cultural institutions, we intend to show how much our communities are able to realize, how much our dreams can become realities thanks to personal skill, certainty, but also to the support that our community can give to the initiatives created in the context of Italian-American experience. Continue to support us in order not to lose "your voice" and the possibility to pass on to future generations the cultural heritage of which you are the protagonists.
