must have passion first of
all, because if you have it,
you chase the news and the
n e w s c o m e s t o y o u . Y o u
must be able to grasp the
gazes, the people, to find
out about them, grasp the
details. It is a journalistic
job even if it is often not
considered as such. What
makes the difference then is
the sensitivity of the pho-
tographer, the technique is
the last part if you like. The
discriminating factor is to
create the situation, have it
c o m e t o m e e t y o u a n d
exploit it. That's the secret.
E v e n t h e p o s i t i o n , w h e r e
you place yourself, as in the
c a s e o f N i c o l e K i d m a n ' s
photo. The point of view is
essential.

struck me was Monica
Bellucci's because she
l o o k s u p . W h a t ' s t h e
