It is one of the oldest wineries and businesses in the Golden State, even surviving and prospering through Prohibition, The Great Depression, and now a global pandemic. So, how do they do it? San Antonio Winery has remained open throughout the pandemic – making the necessary adjustments to be in compliance with the health department and local government, and to ensure all staff and patrons are safe and comfortable. Now, the winery is offering extended weekend hours, seasonal wine flights, a newly remodeled outdoor patio seating area, and so much more! The historic winery and it's onsite Maddalena Restaurant are serving a full menu of delicious homemade Italian cuisine, created by its namesake and winery matriarch, Maddalena Riboli. When the pandemic hit and indoor dining was no longer an option, San Antonio Winery had to get creative. They already had outdoor seating, but not nearly enough. After a few weeks of planning and building, the brand-new Patio Al Fresco emerged. The new Patio Al Fresco offers an abundance of covered outdoor spaced seating for guests to enjoy their meal and award-winning wines. With gorgeous flowers surrounding the space, soothing music – including live music on the weekends, and great company, it's as easy as ever to relax and unwind. For those who wish to enjoy the offerings of San Antonio Winery and the Maddalena Restaurant, but from the comfort of their own home, food can be ordered for takeout and delivery through third party apps. The meal at home, with a beautiful glass of wine, is equally deli- cious. While traditional wine tastings are not offered at this time, the winery adjusted to offering pre-poured seasonal wine flights for those who are interested in exploring options. The Whites of the Coast flight comes with 4 crisp white wines ranging from semi-sweet to buttery and dry; it's perfect for those hot LA days. For those in search of a little more variety, the Autumn Elegance flight offers an evenly balanced mix of reds and whites. And finally, the Afternoon Delight flight is a curation of refreshing wines made for those with a sweeter palate. Even though parts of San Antonio Winery's business are not operating (indoor dining, winery tours, and the aforementioned wine tast- ings) at this time, there are many visitors coming in each day and all leave pleased with their experience. Aside from the elevated outdoor dining experience, visitors can browse the gift shop for gorgeous and fun seasonal items like wine accessories, glassware, and souvenirs. And of course, there is the massive wine shop that offers a large selection of award-winning wines for all types of wine drinkers. San Antonio Winery's promise to offering amazing food, delicious wine, and an unparalleled atmosphere continues to hold true through these unprecedented times. With this being an especially challenging and emotional year for many, the winery is as committed as ever to be a destination that its patrons and the community can come to for a good time. San Antonio Winery welcomes all to be a part of the jour- ney together.
