Despite distancing himself from music and moving to New York after disco went out of fashion in the late '80s, Moroder continued to influence the pop scene and even the 21 st century disco revival by being sampled by Lil Wayne and other artists. C o - f o u n d e r Riccardo Pozzoli claims that during the first few months of T h e B l o n d e S a l a d , h e a n d Chiara were "young students, and it was not easy to say 'no' to such proposals with high financial reward". Instead the two founders decided to wait for the blog to build all on its own, and as time passed, larger brands such as Dior began to take notice.
