March 19th, Sun.– St. Joseph's Day at Historic Mission San Juan Capistrano 10:00am – 2:00pm This annual celebration includes our St. Joseph's Table, ringing of the historic bells, live mariachi music, commu- nity presentations, special guest lecture on Cliff Swallows, Mission Basilica School performances, history of St. Joseph Day and the Swallow legend. March 19th, Sun. - 12 o'clock Mass Festivities begin at 11:30 with a procession from the auditorium to church with the carrying of the statue, accompanied by its members, church societies, Knights of Columbus, parish priests and the Band MDF conducted by David Costa. The festivities continue after the mass back in the auditorium with a traditional FREE "Poor Man's Meal" consisting of pasta con fagioli (beans), fried cala- mari, salad and bread while being entrained by the band. Cookies and other traditional Italian goodies will be available. ALL donations and proceeds help benefit our Parish and community. For the last 25 years scholar- ship awards have been awarded to qualified students of Mary Star of the Sea High School, and San Pedro High School, as well as seminary students. March 25th, Sat. - 59th Annual Swallow's Day Parade – Mark your calendar to be a part of our award winning Italian entry. There is no better way to show your Italian pride than by marching along a parade route lined with over 30,000 spectators, filmed on TV and broadcast live on several radio stations. It's a wonderful day with a fun Festa Italiana at Zoomar's petting zoo with homemade pizza made by Cucina Caprese, drinks, & live music that will be sure to have you up and dancing the tarantella.
