L'Italo-Americano PAGE 18 The Patrons of Italian Culture announce the establishement of the "Albert J. Casola Prize" continuing their long standing commitment of funding for worthy students of Italian descent, the Patrons of Italian culture are pleased to announce the establishment of the "Albert J. casola Prize", to be awarded for the first time during the summer of 2013. This annual scholarship follows a long standing Patrons tradition of student awards and scholarships over the last many decades, reports Paul Romano, Patron President. The Patrons were selected as 'administrators' for this important task by Anthony olivero, Sr., Trustee for The Albert J. casola Trust. Mr. casola, who was a resident of Bohemia, new york, was interested in education and concerned about the many young Italian children displaced and orphaned by W.W.II. Board Secretary, Robert De Pietro, first received information about Albert J. casola's bequest through Lou and Margaret Bisetti, with little information as to how Mr. casola's wishes were to be fulfilled. After discussion with Mr. olivero, the Patron's Board of Directors proposed to establish a 'perpetual' endowment to fund annual scholarships for college or graduate students, having an interest in the Italian Language or culture and an interest in promoting the awareness of the importance and contributions of the Italian Language and culture to the world. The Patrons have established an investment portfolio and will be in a position to award its 'first' scholarship during the summer of 2013. Awards in following years will be larger. Eligible students are encouraged to complete the entry form attached to this Press Release and submit their letter and other required documentation prior to the deadline. Inquiries or other information may be obtained by writing the Patrons at the address shown on the entry form. The knights of Columbus John J.
