job?
The negative part is defi-
n i t e l y t h e f a c t t h a t y o u
never consider a place as
y o u r h o m e , y o u c a n n o t
c o m p l e t e l y c a l l i t h o m e ,
because we stay in a place
only for four years. So if the
negative side is that you feel
a bit nomadic all your life,
the nice thing is being able
to get to know many places
and cultures, and embrace
t h e i d e a y o u r l i f e i s c a n
c h a n g e c o n t i n u o u s l y . I
b e l i e v e t h a t a s t a b l e l i f e
would be a death sentence
for me, and this job allows
me to have many different
lives. Of course, I miss my
family, and I believe this
p a n d e m i c p r o v e d t o m e
even more— especially after
recently losing my beloved
dog — that this life has a
price.
Y o u t o l d m e b e f o r e
that you like challenges,
are they your drive?
I can't do things for their
own sake, I have to be able
to find a drive to do some-
thing. And in every chal-
lenge I see an opportunity
t o l e a r n a n d t h e r e f o r e t o
improve. Clearly there are
m u c h m o r e i m p o r t a n t
things in life, like health and
family, but I believe that we
should always question our-
selves.
A very formative chal-
lenge you had?
D e f i n i t e l y g o i n g t o
Rwanda as a volunteer. Now
that I can no longer return
there, I continue to be part
of the board of the volun-
t a r y a s s o c i a t i o n , I c o n -
tribute to the projects and
follow them from a distance.
In spite of the adverse opin-
ion of everyone around me,
I didn't have the slightest
hesitation and went. It was
a g r e a t e x p e r i e n c e t h a t I
hope to repeat.
What's your goal for
the future?
I hope to be able to pur-
sue a career in politics. I
certainly feel very southern,
but also very Italian, and I
hope that life will bring me
one day to contribute direct-
ly to the fate of our country.
