L'Italo-Americano THURS DAY, JULY 4, 2013 PAGE 19 It's jazz time - Italy & Switzerland together for a live session at the IIC ALEssANDRA MAstROIANNI Contemporary jazz hits the stage of the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles. Sottovoce (literally "softly") was the title of this performance, a unique combination of traditional and contemporary music, a lyrical musical journey where folk, jazz, and classical sounds meet. A very special performance for the five musicians, and the last for this band, which has performed together Switzerland, under the Auspices of the Consulate General of Italy. On stage with Giovanna Gattuso were Chris Colangelo (bass), Stefano Saccon (sax) Jimmy Branly (drums) and Emmanuel Fratianni (piano), the last one representing Italy's "neighbor" Switzerland. The concert was in fact organized with the collaboration of the Consulate General of that will see the participation of eleven European countries, to be held at UCLA in October 2013.
