The sixth-annual Taste of
Italy, a cultural-gastronomic
event to benefit the Italian
American Museum of Los
Angeles
(IAMLA), will take
place on October 11
th
from 5-
10 PM in Downtown Los
Angeles, 424 North Main Street,
Los Angeles, CA 90012.
Taste
of Italy showcases over
fifty of the region's best restau-
rants and Italian and California-
Italian wineries, as well as
music entertainment, cooking
demonstrations, and celebrity
appearances.
Participating restaurants will
include: Valentino, Drago
Centro, Locanda Del Lago, Il
Fornaio, GROM, and Celestino.
Approximately 100 world-
class wines will be served by
participants such as Casa
Torelli, Le Vigne, Mazzocco,
Ventura Limoncello, and more.

The Cooking Demo stage
will feature Valentin's master
chef Nico Chessa and
DeStefano Cheese, among
others.
Taste of Italy's entertainment
line-up includes the female retro
vocalist trio Swing Dolls,
performances by the LA Opera,
and the sultry sounds of Frank
Sinatra by Nick D'Egidio. La
Dolce Vita will entertain with
the most popular Italian pop
songs, while the Lorenzo Grassi
Group will showcase modern
Italian jazz.
"Taste of Italy offers a true
Italian experience in downtown
Los Angeles. Food, wine, and
culture
are interconnected in the
Italian lifestyle," explained
Marianna Gatto, Executive
Director of the IAMLA and
historian.
"The Italian American
Museum of Los Angeles will be
open in the next few months and
Taste of Italy is a special oppor-
tunity
to celebrate the Italian
and Italian-American legacy and
contributions in the heart of Los
Angeles," said Paul Pagnone,
president of the IAMLA.
Slated to open in the next
few months, the Italian
American Museum will be a

st
century, interactive
museum that documents the
history and continuing contribu-
tions of Italian Americans and
Italians to Southern California
and the nation.
Featuring interactive exhibits
and educational programming,
the Italian American Museum
will provide visitors of all ages
and origins a meaningful under-
standing of the complex, multi-
cultural fabric of the United
States.
Established in 1996, the
Historic Italian Hall Foundation
is a 501 (c)3 charitable organi-
zation dedicated to supporting
the Museum and the continued
preservation efforts of the histo-
ric Italian Hall, the oldest remai-
ning structure from the city's
historic little Italy.
